Deeply concerned at the news that the English National Opera is planning to axe 19 musician jobs. The English National Opera does great work and its orchestra is brilliant. The blame for this must lie with Arts Council England which has imposed swinging funding cuts on the ENO. Disgraceful ISM

I love that partners are considered too and can have paid time off to be there when needed. Yes, much of this is a women’s issue, but we need support and that means men/ fathers need good family friendly policies too that enable them to be supportive.

This is so valuable. We’ve managed a couple of local school visits/ university links with primary and secondary school recorder players. I’m trying to do more outreach projects, connecting schools and their musicians with each other to get more live performances in schools!

One of the things that is making me really happy at the moment is the number of settings championing & embracing continuous provision models beyond EYFS. CogSci is a fascinating & important evidence base but so is child development & play. Both should inform provision & pedagogy
