Not generally appreciated how much the govt R&D budget has shifted from defence to other areas (esp health). Another bit of the peace dividend that looks like it will be partially unwound.

These numbers are eye-popping.

The Texas electric grid operator (ERCOT) revised their electric load outlook by 40 GW due to 'unprecedented and rapid load growth.'

ERCOT's outlook shows electric load reaches 152 GW by 2030.

For comparison, all-time ERCOT peak demand is 86 GW.
