Policymakers worldwide are seeking solutions to reduce fossil fuel use in heating as a way to mitigate negative climate impacts. Our new handbook gives detailed recommendations for effective clean heat standard design. Learn more in Jan Rosenow’s thread below. ⬇️
Congratulations to our members at RAP for the publication of the Clean heat standards handbook.
Make sure to read Jan Rosenow's excellent breakdown below to find out how and why #CleanHeat standards can be used to #decarbonise heat💡👇
Study number 57 was published today.
'It is unlikely that hydrogen will play any significant role in heating buildings in the future.'
'Electrification of heating in most buildings remains the most cost-effective pathway to Net Zero.'

This is such a lazy narrative. Installs are up 75% since we increased grant levelal and they work well in older properties. This is about our long term energy security-do we want to heat our homes using UK produced electricity or expensive imported gas? telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/1…
Data on the costs of transmission and distribution of hydrogen have been relatively scarce.
New study EWI shows that hydrogen pipeline network would cost customers 87% more per unit of energy. Study was funded by DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches, a gas industry association.
