The Texas electric grid operator (ERCOT) revised their electric load outlook by 40 GW due to 'unprecedented and rapid load growth.'

ERCOT's outlook shows electric load reaches 152 GW by 2030.

For comparison, all-time ERCOT peak demand is 86 GW.

This is mostly due to the increased use of natural gas, plus solar.

Why are U.S. natural gas prices so low right now?

One factor shaping the market is the surplus of gas in storage.

Storage helps utilities and others balance supply and demand across seasons.

U.S. gas inventories are currently 36.6% above the five-year average.
