Man from Aran, self-portrait by Sir William Orpen in typical clothing from the west of Ireland (1916). Orpen was born in Oriel, Grove Ave. Stillorgan on 27 Nov 1878 and was famous for his self-portraits. His lover Evelyn St George paid him £500 for it. That's about £10,000 today.
