Ukraine has today likely inflicted the greatest damage to Russia's ability to launch nuclear weapons in history. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It is not Ukrainians who should be thanking the West. It is the West who should be thanking Ukrainians.

Parliament will return tomorrow - along with many colleagues I will continue to urge the Government to do whatever it can to stop the violence in Gaza. Nothing should be off the table as a way forward. 1/2

For technical reasons am struggling to get my updates for local residents to work, so sharing this here to be clear using my parliamentary platform to speak out on this has been and continues to be a priority for me. 2/2

#Newsnight on #groominggangs. Heartbreaking. Shocking. Disgraceful. Traumatic. Labelling the victims "child prostitutes" and giving one a criminal record for being a "sex offender"....?! Young girls in care just abandoned by everyone in authority. Strength & support to them allπŸ™πŸΎ

β€œIt’s the only picture I have got of me as a child… I wish I could have stayed that child and not gone through what I did go through.” Four grooming survivors reflect on their childhoods as part of #Newsnight’s grooming survivors programme.

Some issues cut across party politics. Grateful to David Davis MP for raising this and grateful to Keir Starmer for agreeing to look into it. #PMQs #miscarriagesofjustice

Great news that Vera Baird DBE KC has been appointed as interim chair of the failing CCRC - someone who has actually worked on appeals of the wrongly convicted including Emma Humphreys bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Today, we joined Shelter and Crisis to highlight why the government must prioritise affordable housing at next week’s Spending Review. Housing associations stand ready to build a generation of new social homes – this can only happen with the right investment and support.

Uplifting, in dark times, to hear Elana Kaminka, an Israeli peace advocate who has worked with bereaved families since her son Yannai was killed on Oct 7 & Aziz Abu Sarah, a Palestinian who turned to peace activism after his brother was killed in the intifada speak tonight

Organisers tell me this was Yachad UK biggest fundraiser. Increasingly numbers of diaspora Jews yearning for a different, peaceful resolution to the conflict for both Israel and Palestine, it seems. Many told me of their frustration at the divisive, hateful rhetoric we witness on

The UK voted for today's resolution because Israel’s block on aid into Gaza needs to end. Israel's new system is not working. Palestinians have been killed as they try to reach the very few aid sites that Israel has permitted. It is inhumane. Israel must let the United Nations save lives.
