I was up in our now community hub & playground and was delighted to see evidence of children at work. A cool hideout incorporating branches, rocks and sand built into the hedge. Lots of work gone into weaving the branches together & collecting rocks. Great to see kids being kids

Thanks Joanne Collins for highlighting what many of us have been saying for years NCS isn't about meaningful support for families or services. It was about stretching inadequate funding further & isn't child/family friendly or sustainable for services limerickpost.ie/2025/04/22/nat…

Another win for children in Finland. 1st they had to stop discriminating against children, giving all children equal access to ECEC funding. Now constitutional court overturns childcare priority for working parents. We could do something similar in Ireland prez.ly/7pkd

⚠️When Israel is outright sharing their plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza, the Irish Government must urgently use every tool at its disposal to stop these actions. 🇵🇸This includes urgently progressing a robust Occupied Territories Bill.

10 years ago we met the entire Fianna Fáil Micheál Martin in Kilkenny about the "childcare" crisis and issues facing educators and providers. Little did we know how worse it was to get. Political promises are useless without action and investment.

Just starting the Annual Early Years Sector Profile and again with the staffing section, more questions that are answered on our service profile in the hive. What's the point of the Hive if they can use existing information for these surveys. Pobal Department of Children, Disability and Equality

Cheap childcare & quality in the same sentence Today with Claire Byrne Quality costs. Recruitment/retention is unsustainable. Yes €1.3bn invested, but question the starting point? Ireland invests less than the 1% international benchmark. We cannot have quality on a shoe string budget

British surgeon Victoria Rose, who's just returned from Gaza: "They're coming through the doors like a conveyor belt... really small children with massive injuries.. bits of their bodies blown off... every day at least half [of my cases] were under the age of 11.. its barbaric"

We had a wonderful morning on Saturday, with educators, managers and childminders attending our workshop. Eithne from Grounded in Nature, shared practical ideas on how to ingrain nature into day to day practice with babies, toddlers and young children.

AIM is a positive step in ECEC but some children need more than currently available & having lobbied, Department of Children, Disability and Equality are just ignoring these children's needs & children that are pre ECCE. If gov talks inclusion they need to support it meaningfully Norma Foley T.D midlands103.com/news/midlands-…
