I've spent time today updating my #ReadingForPleasure Padlet with some new bits and pieces (articles, ideas for staff meetings, teaching resources, book recommendations for assemblies, etc). Hopefully it's of use to people. All shares appreciated! padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/rea…

Just searching for poems to update our unit and found this; could be an interesting poem to link to 'Tissue': childrens.poetryarchive.org/poem/if-all-th…

dropbox.com/scl/fi/5uvydtu… Would you like a list of over 100 powerful, diverse picture books ideal for whole (Primary) school and in-class assemblies? Also included are themes & authors + illustrators. This would do a weekly story for over 3 years

Here's my summary of the Ofsted report about music education in primary and secondary schools, released last September (it's taken me a while!) The written summary and a PDF of this graphic can be found at marcrhayes.com/post/a-summary… Hope it's helpful! 🎶

Is there a group for MAT Literacy leaders? I feel like I’ve seen something like this but didn’t save it and am keen to network if it exists, or start something if it doesn’t! Pls drop contacts if you know people doing this!

If you missed this yesterday, I'm trying to facilitate a network for literacy leaders to share ideas and support each other online (and maybe in person...!). Give TheLiteracyCommunity a follow and fill in this form so that I can add you to the mailing list! forms.gle/KKkkUxujvjqjDK…

I've just found out that Pearson (Edexcel) have a mock marking service. Papers are marked and sent back with analysis to help teaching. Also a moderation service. This could be really useful for some centres/subjects. pearsonschoolsandfecolleges.co.uk/secondary/pear…

Really enjoying the ‘Why don’t teachers get better?’ section of the T&L Playbook. Some great points: - Importance of a shared model of excellence & breaking a strategy into small parts - Importance of highlighting possible errors/mutations when introducing a new technique

- Interestingly, research shows the best time for PD is in the morning. - Knowledge alone does not change behaviour - deliberate practice os required. - Practice should be based on an agreed framework of excellence, be highly specific and focused and feedback should be given.

The photo album - a creation inspired by Andy’s photograph idea. I have used A LOT of other people’s resources so thank you! This is me hoping to give a little back. With a few weeks to go, I thought it was a good time to share. I wanted to blog but this is easier /1

My first week as headteacher is nearly here. I have prepared my first staff meeting, assembly, SLT. I have planned in time to walk around the classes and to meet the office staff. I plan to be visible on the gates. Is there anything else I must do in first week? HeadteacherChat
