Chairman HS2 is 🎯 so much more than a rail project '“HS2 is a project of phenomenal scale and ambition,”would create “a legacy of world-leading industry, reimagined public spaces and international investment that will be felt by future generations" Financial Times on.ft.com/3HZouVE

David Knowles “materials is pervasive - and we need an Industry-focussed Strategy which sets out the priorities” and thanks the Materials Innovation Leadership Group and Chair Allan E. Cook CBE FREng FIET DSc for driving the process 🙏 at #mre2024

Sad for Andy Street who has been a benchmark for excellence as a Mayor for the people he serves. A big loss of a very good person - aligned to a broken & disintegrating party. A big thank you for all you have done for the U.K. & standing of City Region Mayors / Best Wishes

Good to see that Northern #Transport will be the top priority if we get a The Labour Party Government. I agree that this is a massive reset moment for transport in the #UK, to create a proper plan, that we will stick to & deliver... manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m… ....to create significant

Every business leader I speak with is super positive & optimistic about Keir Starmer who in two weeks has re-established the UK Prime Minister role as serious, statesman like, diplomatic & leader of UK for nation and all its citizens - refreshing/ energising

Pleased the rail connectivity work Andy Burnham & I commissioned has come to fruition. The decision over HS2 north was always wrong, & so I hope this case for a new rail line will be brought to life. The private sector will be key - as they’re already proving with this work.

I really hope that our review is accepted in its entirety. We have yet to get a response from Louise Haigh about a follow on meeting with the Expert Group.

Sad to hear the news that Louise Haigh has resigned. There was a real intention to move fast to fix things. I wish her the best for the future.
