WigtownBookFestival Sarah Churchwell Fascinating no-holds-barred talk from Sarah Churchwell on the divided "United" States. So many themes dealt with incisively. Glad my lovely daughter Alison Davies was driving home so that I could start reading Churchwell's book en route. One of best talks in 9 yrs of visiting WBF.

Please share. Amy is a keen hiker and often goes wild camping. She has also joined protests by groups such as Just Stop Oil Someone must have seen her over the past month.

Fascinating, energising talk on oceans, "Blue Machine" by Helen Czerski. Now jam-packed main venue for Fergal Keane on The Madness. Powerful, self-deprecating on addictions to alcohol & danger. Brilliant. WigtownBookFestival

Fascinating article in The Times and The Sunday Times about the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. If you are working on curriculum anywhere in the world you need to understand whatβs not worked in Scotland. Comments here from 5βοΈ Schools

Another great (my 9th) WigtownBookFestival made more wonderful being in a group of 10 fab females. Highlights were Lindsey Hilsum (& Allan Little )& Russ Jones, Readinglasses & CafeRendevous. Lowlight was talk on children's books - which reminded us that classism is alive & kicking.
