My latest capture - the galaxy M106 and an edge-on galaxy, NGC 4217. looking more closely, one can spot many other distant galaxies hundreds of millions of light-years away. Celestron RASA telescope ZWO ASI533MC color camera Antlia L-Filter from Starfront Observatories, TX

Partial solar eclipse - 29-03-25. A day of firsts! First time I saw an eclipse through a scope, first time I’ve ever captured one through a scope and this is the first ever solar image I have processed.

The ride to orbit was much smoother than I had anticipated. Apart from the final minute before SECO, I barely felt any G-forces—it honestly felt like just another flight. I had imagined it would feel like being in an elevator that suddenly drops, but that sensation never came.

My latest capture - the globular cluster, M53 with 500,000 stars. There are roughly 150 known globular clusters in the Milky Way, with potentially more hidden from view due to the galactic disk Celestron RASA telescope ZWO ASI533MC camera Antlia L-Filter Starfront Observatories

Now that the world's largest digital camera is installed, what work remains before Rubin goes live? For starters, hooking up and testing all the camera's connections to the telescope, before cooling it down to -100 C (-148 F) 🥶 Read all the details at rubinobservatory.org/news/preparing…!

I got the superb conjunction this morning, Sept 19, of the waning Moon, Venus and Regulus. Though only just as they rose out of eastern clouds. This was from near Tolfield, Alberta. Details in the Alt Text. TWAN

This is the fiery re-entry of a satellite, just after midnight on Sept 22/23, across the north, and above an arc of aurora. The site is the Whispering Pines Camp in the Cypress Hills of Alberta, and during the annual Southern Alberta Star Party. Details in Alt Text. #starlink

With his SVX152T, Brian Meyers captured this surreal image of the Witch's Broom, a western segment of the Veil Nebula (NGC 6960); a supernova remnant that occurred about 10,000 years ago. In the constellation Cygnus, it lies roughly 1,400 light-years away from Earth. #stellarvue
