🚨 It's crazy that the NHS has told 350 doctors training in anaesthesia that the NHS has no job for them after 3 years training. At the same time we have massive shortages of, you guessed it, anaesthetists. These self-defeating bottlenecks defy logic. Statement from Royal College of Anaesthetists

"It's not correct to say we didn't do everything we possibly could." Disputing claims, Robert Jenrick says while care homes were "one of the most difficult elements", the government "did make steps to protect people." We now know differently don’t we

GPs up & down the country warned Wes Streeting Stephen Kinnock Department of Health and Social Care 6w ago that forcing the implementation of online forms without safeguards was a fools errand & raise false expectations Has now decided not to talk to General Practice @DrKatie.BSky.Social Dr David Wrigley So here we are 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s a bit astonishing that the government continue to use demeaning terms. They aren’t on strike , they haven’t balloted for a strike …. So just get round the table and discuss things. This is simply wasting time rather than moving things forward as they were elected to do

Look at him trying to incite division into us via the GPC and I know some of those pricks will love the attention. You know the “Something must be done” kind. Does Starmer or Burnham even know who he is? Or do they just think of him as Robin to Batman Streeting?

Stephen Kinnock You didn’t listen to concerns And the results from 1,300 practices - representing almost 14m patients - following the contract change 42% of GP practices ⬇️ face-to-face appts 45% redeploying staff to cope 74% workload ⬆️ 68% reported ⬆️ stress 54% said their working hours ⬆️

Dr Steve Taylor Bottom line is - there is no cash , can’t keep to promises , won’t make the tough budget decisions because they got into a manefesto mess , didn’t cost out redundancies from unplanned reform … so now it’s deflect and blame other people. Which is disappointing

Stephen Kinnock Can you explain to me how you’re open to dialogue when you’ve literally cancelled all meetings with GPCE? That’s a bit like saying you’re up for talking but then hide yourself in a dungeon with a locked door…

In October 2015 Keir Starmer supported the Resident Doctors protests Since then, Drs pay has been slashed Yet Wes Streeting tells mistruths, pretending Doctors have had a rise Just look at the graph. Do they think you're stupid?.

No patients held to ransom No industrial action Just millions of online consults delivered everyday by amazing GP teams Meanwhile patient safety concerns flagged from >1000 practices serving 14m pts nationwide Talk to me, Stephen If your dept had, we could’ve avoided all this

The funding given to GPs to run their practices has been cut in real terms by 20% The average is now £169 per patient per year, but many practices receive less and in most cases this is in poorer areas with worse health outcomes This isn’t enough Wes Streeting & you know it

Practices are telling us they need more GPs but lack the funding to employ them. Thank you to the more than 8,000 GPs and GP Registrars who signed our letter to the Health Secretary urging him to make the 10-Year Workforce Plan a genuine roadmap to train, recruit and retain more

The Government Wes Streeting Stephen Kinnock Department of Health and Social Care say that they have recruited over 2000 more GPs The problem is that they have not retained them Retention requires funding which they aren’t providing There are unemployed & under employed GPs And there is a long way to go

I cannot believe we are in the crazy situation where patients can't see a GP because there aren't enough doctors... But there are UNEMPLOYED GPs sitting at home because GP surgeries aren't given enough funding to hire them! Somebody make it make sense!!!
