Devastating news that Tata Steel are pressing ahead with the Government’s plans to close both blast furnaces in Port Talbot triggering thousands of job losses.

With other options on the table, and with an uncertain future, Labour urges Tata not make any irreversible decisions.

Rob Rickhuss, the general secretary of the Community union, described Tata's plans at its biggest UK plant as 'reckless' and said the company should 'do the right thing.'
