Juneteenth calls us to understand the realities of our past, celebrate the resilience and achievements of Black Americans, and align the course of our country toward its founding creed of liberty and justice for all. Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth!

Today marks the 160th anniversary of when the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas were finally told they were free — after 256 years of slavery. Today, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for true justice throughout this country.

President Biden flew on a commercial plane from DC to Galveston, Texas tonight for Juneteenth celebrations! He took a bunch of photos with passengers. This is what a real public servant looks like. Thank you, President Biden.
