Norma Cohen The PRA had looked at this issue with Leasehold Knowledge and our ex Bank of England trustee along with the leasehold APPG some years ago. The PRA seem to have accept ground rents a very minor issue for almost all pension providers. Strange how things come around again.

Barry Gardiner MP Leasehold and the nonsensical loop holes filled Buiding Safety Act which had failed to address and fund the remediation required both need to be addressed and resolved. Many voters for The Labour Party to easily win over. The party needs to be more vocal about both issues.

1/ Today I received a letter from managing agent saying I’m in breach of my lease & they are starting proceedings to take my flat away from me. For not paying a Ā£5500 bill. On a flat I was sold where I was told it would be Ā£600 per year. Less than 2 years ago.

Pensioners for Ground Rent You know the impact assessment makes clear no compensation is payable? I guess you also know most GR investments purchased at a fraction of their valuation? You must know GR investments a tiny fraction of almost all pension funds? You knew GR investments weren’t ESG compliant?

E&J - another ground rent grazer - paid Corporation Tax of £325,000 on gross profit of £13 million for 2023 (effective rate: 2.5%). E&J estimated its portfolio of UK ground rents was worth £280 million in 2023. Another burden on hard-working UK taxpayers.
