56 laps round the sun completed today. Fleetwood park run spectating this morning (wife running), Keele uni to see son, visited Trentham Gardens, home via IKEA Warrington to get him some bits for uni, took a short cut, got lost in Burtonwood. Now on m6 Home by 11pm hopefully!!!

Excellent service today from The RAC . Spoke to helpful call centre chap, got quick and clear guidance on next steps. Lovely RAC chap arrived within 30 minutes, trackable via link sent by text for reassurance. Really well managed process. All sorted and home safely...

Unable to run (yet again due to yet another injury 🤬), so out there this morning for the Stanley Park, Blackpool #parkrun on motivational marshaling duties, with son 2. Well done to everyone who took part and all fellow volunteers 👏

These have arrived! - the finished, hardback copies of a little book I've written about the joyfully unpredictable experience of producing Father Ted. Publication is Feb 20th but I'd like to give away two copies early - RT by Saturday 6pm and my dog Watson will pick the winners.

Their very finest oeuvre in my humble opinion.

Back on parkrun UK yesterday - Stanley Park, Blackpool. First parkrun in 6 weeks when I had to stop at halfway point. Took it carefully yesterday and did it in 38 minutes - just a few seconds off my best run time there. Chuffed to bits. Back for more there on Saturday 8th.

Hurrah! It's been coming for a while. A new all time PB for me for the parkrun UK on Saturday. 5th consecutive improved time in the last 5 parkruns. Getting better each week. Delighted after 7 months of frustrating injuries. Long way to go but great progress 😁

Great to have been north of the border and get in two new parkrun UK events over the past week. As always, well organised, fantastic marshaling and very picturesque. Only 9 seconds off my existing PB today, so will go again next week freshly focused to get that new PB 🤞💪

Due to the hot weather, we are once again officially downgrading the number of cardigans local residents are legally required to wear from 3 down to just 2. The Met office have warned of a potential 1 cardigan situation tomorrow, we will keep you posted.

Visited Slough Museum today. Thunderbirds are go! Really enjoyed it and it took me back many years. This free exhibition is on until nearly Christmas. F.A.B. Virgil

Happy #LancashireDay . It's my adopted county I moved to 30 years ago. While my native Buckinghamshire will always be close to my heart, Lancashire is very much home. It's the people, the food, the countryside and coast, the quality of life and humour that I love the most.
