NEWS: The Biden administration's is moving forward with plans to cement its sweeping asylum restrictions at the US-Mexico border, officials tell CBS News. The changes, planned for next week, would make it far less likely for the strict rules to be lifted. cbsnews.com/news/biden-asy…

New! The Biden Administration has formally extended its June asylum restrictions at the border, cementing a new "trigger" to life the suspension which will be even harder to meet. With crossings essentially flat, the rule will stay in place for a while. public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2024-22602.pdf

To recap: There are not 25 million undocumented migrants in the United States. DHS has not lost track of 320,000 children. Migrants do not bring fentanyl. TPS and CBP One (parole) are not "illegal."

DHS announces that it will extend full Temporary Protected Status (TPS) protections for any Lebanese nationals here as of yesterday. In July, Biden extended Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) protections to Lebanese nationals. DED is less stable than TPS, so this is better.
