There are breakthroughs in cancer over the last ten years that have become standard of care in other EU countries, but unfortunately, in Ireland policy neglect means patients can not access them.
Why are we the slowest in Europe to approve new medicines?

Along with symptom awareness it's important to be aware of genetic risk-factors like & that increase a persons risk of developing the disease. Knowing your risk can help you to reduce the risk.

All well and good HSE Ireland and no doubt makes for good self promotion. Tell us, where are the surgeons and staff with the hiring freeze? Moving from Peter to Paul without resources is just going to leave patients deeper in the ever expanding pothole

Stories like this do little to encourage or to encourage Irish trained doctors to return from abroad to continue their careers in the Irish health system. irishtimes.com/health/2024/05…

Feeling good this evening that I’ve overcome another milestone. Did my first long run since chemo with Damien Duggan by my side all the way just as he was when I was ill! Just really did you have to have such good weather? What was wrong with cloudy!

Agreed! So much progress, so many advances, and more hope than before. Great presentation by a surgeon who no doubt is equally frustrated that he and colleagues can't apply all their knowledge and skills into full practice.

Heartbreaking but critically important message from my former UL classmate. Patricia is advocating for a lowering of the screening age for from 59 to 50 in line with EU best practice. Please share your local political reps and help save lives.
