Chris Mason: "It was quite telling how often Keir Starmer felt obliged to say to the media just then, that he wouldn't be standing down." Maybe that's because you lot kept asking him every ten seconds, you absolute bellend 😂 #BBCBreakfast #R4Today #ElectionResult2026

Theresa May lost a total of 1, 335 council seats. Boris Johnson lost 1,500 council seats. Having inherited the worst economy & public services in a century, Labour has taken all the damage made under the Tories, is trying to fix it but getting the blame. Starmer is doing well.

.Sky News now projecting a national vote share for Reform of 27%, based on results so far. That’s four points down on what they achieved in local elections last year. Somewhat of a counter to the prevailing narrative.

If, like me, you are sick of the BBC covering up for Reform UK's shortcomings and corruption, please repost. The BBC are NOT impartial!!!

Today's results are brutal. People want us to deliver the change they voted for in 2024. The last thing we need is to descend into a vanity leadership contest. Keir Starmer is clear he will roll his sleeves up & deliver for the country. And in Swindon, we will play our part.

Something’s puzzling me… if Keir Starmer is such a bad PM, why are all the press barons, Russians and foreign billionaires spending so much trying to get rid of him? Surely, they’d prefer a terrible PM that was easily exploited… oh 😳

Keir Starmer should stay on. This is the final chance. But for fucks sake, hire a digital team who understands social media, which is where Reform is winning support and subsequently winning elections. As one Labour voter told me recently: “Where the hell even are they?”

Reform already off to a flying start in their new council roles, having to disown this guy who was elected, er, today. The vetting process continues to shine. 🤡

Nice of Zia Yusuf to pop up on #Newsnight to remind everyone what a slippery arrogant condescending lying little gobshite he is.

Hand-drawn animation was such painstaking work that Walt Disney Animation Studios would sometimes reuse animation cells across films. And honestly, spotting them now just makes the artistry even more impressive.

This seems to be the final tally of Council Seats. Labour still have stonking majority in the House of Commons (403 seats) and still have 1300 majority of Councillors. They lost way less than projected. Although every loss was felt and apologised for. Onwards and upwards 🌹

Jessica Elgot Guardian has its finger on the pulse yet again. Well you don’t speak for me. Keir Starmer is the PM I voted for. And nothing has changed my mind. A resilient, purposeful man. Just what our country needs. Not, clearly, what your paymasters need though.
