Our political leaders are sleepwalking into climate catastrophe. My piece for the The Guardian on our priority for 2025: making the government wake up to the scale of the crisis ahead. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Several times, during these months of horror, I have wondered about my Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) classmates that went off to work at Lincoln Labs Lincoln Laboratory, Raytheon, and other defence contractors. Did any of them help make the "innovative" weapons genociding Palestinians in Gaza? Almost certainly yes.
If we can’t stop the genocide in Gaza, the least we can do is bear witness to the crime. A stunning column from Nesrine Malik, a titan of moral clarity as ever. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
You can see the problems with how the The New York Times frames what should already be common knowledge from its subheading. The newspaper offers empathy towards Israel for the reasons it committed these terrible war crimes. Literally more empathy than for the victims.
This man is a hero Useless, no marks Keir Starmer David Lammy SHOULD be demanding his immediate release But they are too weak, too craven, too in thrall to USA & Israel to do what they SHOULD do
The more I think about this, the more ominous it is. Using the Xmas hiatus (Israel always takes advantage of news lulls to commit worse crimes) to attack the symbolic head of all doctors in the world, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, while destroying the last hospital in N Gaza
