The Government has published sectoral GHG emissions ceilings for Carbon Budgets 1 (2021-25) and 2 (2026-30). GHG emissions in 2021 took 23% of CB1, leaving a smaller quota for remaining years. The more GHG cuts are delayed, the more rapid they will need to be in later years.
