I’m not really sure what’s going on here- two swifts; one appeared on 6th May, the other has been flying around with the original swift for a week or so but never come to roost before tonight! Could this be a new mate for the original swift?? SaveOurSuffolkSwifts BTO Suffolk Swift Awareness Week
Sadly on 2nd June one of three eggs were nudged out of the nest cup! Today, to my surprise (and three days later) the female had laid a replacement- is this normal?? They had started incubating about a weeks ago. BTO Suffolk SaveOurSuffolkSwifts Eddie Bathgate Swift Awareness Week
On Sat 15th the first of 3 eggs hatched and is doing nicely. Just waiting for no. 2 and 3! Keeping everything crossed for them. Suffolk Bird Group BTO Suffolk SaveOurSuffolkSwifts Swift Awareness Week
Five pairs of Swifts are now nesting at this location in Suffolk. More nest boxes are to be installed to give the colony space to expand further. Swift conservation works ! Suffolk Bird Group SuffolkWildlifeTrust
Here is a short video explaining Graham Knight’s ingenious effective method of locating nesting Swifts. Please do check local nest boxes for occupancy and if you see Swifts circling low around buildings it can be used to find their natural nests Suffolk Bird Group SuffolkWildlifeTrust
Two of the three eggs hatch for our swift family- the final egg was eventually nudged out when it didn’t hatch. Now, the chicks are doing amazingly well at two weeks old. A happy, well fed family! Swift Awareness Week SaveOurSuffolkSwifts BTO Suffolk RSPB England ClayWhitPC UKSwifts

Had the absolute pleasure of meeting Chris Packham yesterday at One Sixth Form College, Ipswich. We looked over the twenty swift boxes and call system there donated by SaveOurSuffolkSwifts, got up to speed with the swift families claydonswifts and talked all things swift! Top man!
Well, those days slipped by and now we have some beautiful chicks who are getting restless. Flight training in progress- wing flapping and press ups… standard! Any day now. SaveOurSuffolkSwifts Swift Awareness Week UKSwifts BTO Suffolk ClayWhitPC
Chicks still about today and both Mum and Dad have come in to roost as well. It’s a bit cramped with four, nearly, fully grown swifts tonight! Suffolk Bird Group BTO Suffolk SaveOurSuffolkSwifts Swift Awareness Week
Great to see life inside a swift box. Congratulations to claydonswifts your Swift Box success, is our 'Film of the Week'
Suffolk Bird Group stalwart John Turner has been donating his time making Swift nest boxes for SOSSwifts over the past year. Incredibly these are the 399th and 400th ones he’s made with all distributed, mainly for Swift Community Sets. Amazing!! Suffolk Bird Group SuffolkWildlifeTrust
