This is a post I've been wanting to write for ten years. Much of the debate around consensus has been over proof-of-work vs proof-of-stake. But there is an option that is simpler, more robust, and supports in-protocol governance. contenthub.coil.com/content/an-ele… 🧵👇

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Monica Long at 3 different companies now, and nearly from day 1 at Ripple. So much of what the company has achieved is due to her leadership. Congratulations!

⏱️ #CryptoInOneMinute is back with Ripple’s Executive Chairman and Founder Chris Larsen to discuss carbon markets. Greenhouse gas emissions are radically transforming our environment—it’s time to make carbon credit markets more transparent through blockchain technology.

Thoughtful, smart, beautifully written review by record producer David Katznelson of kassa overall show Black Cat, the must-live-forever jazz club. Read this. And support this Tenderloin institution. oakiedog.substack.com/p/cat-black-ja…

Thanks for the chat Amber Lee! In times like these, our local government, police force and citizens all can step up to keep us safe. I believe the best way forward requires striking the right balance between privacy, justice and safety, and that’s how I’ve approached solutions.

As a Bay Area native, I've seen SF go through booms, busts and reinvention time and again -- I'm confident this city will remain a home for innovation, and the problems here are fixable. Great to speak with you Tim Johns!

Joined the one and only Kara Swisher last week at Manny’s! to discuss my philanthropic work in SF, how to bring tech and public officials together, and more. She also asked about a lawsuit update -- and 48 hrs later, we got one… podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…

The voluntary carbon market is a key component to fighting devastating climate change...but has been long overdue for an upgrade. Congratulations to Centigrade on today’s launch!

I sincerely hope we’re seeing the beginning of the end of the SEC’s policy of regulation by enforcement. The Courts are rejecting it, and now it’s time for Congress to take the lead on crypto policy. Thanks Ed Ludlow Bloomberg Technology for the chat!

Chatted with Jon Steinberg about the upcoming SF mayoral race, and the number of folks who care deeply about the future of this city. SF comes with its own unique set of (solvable) challenges, and I believe Mayor London Breed remains the right person for the job.

The last 3 years we’ve seen a rogue administrative state that needs to be held accountable for its actions – not just an investigation into the conflicts of interests that led to these baseless claims, but how the US actively demolished its global standing as the home for
