I’m excited to share my favorite research story from grad school! Thanks to Laura Kiessling for letting me work on this cool project during my PhD. advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/38/e…

This morning at #ACSSpring2022, @vicmarando is presenting on biosynthetic glycan labeling at 9:05 AM in the Hilton. Then this afternoon, check out Robert Lyle McPherson and Christine Isabella, Ph.D. at 3:30 PM today in the Hilton, discussing work on lectin-sequencing. Hope to see you all there!
Christine Isabella defended in Jan 2021. She worked on the lectin project and did everything from crystallography to flow on human 💩 samples. She was a huge presence in the dept, serving as WIC+ president. She's finishing up a visiting assistant professorship at Bowdoin College
(1/2) We’re excited to welcome Michel C. Nussenzweig, M.D., Ph.D., as a Scientific Advisor. A Professor & Senior Physician at Rockefeller University and an Investigator at @HHMINEWS, he’s known for research on the molecular aspects of the immune system’s adaptive and innate responses.
Congrats to our CEO Lovisa Afzelius for being recognized by Endpoints News as one of the top 20 women who are supercharging biopharma R&D for 2022! Read more about Lovisa and other inspiring stories from #womenleaders in our industry: endpts.com/special-report… #WomeninBiopharma
Excited to share a pre-print of our work in the Kiessling Group describing interactions between human lectins and stool microbiota. Some highlights below: (1/4) x.com/biorxivpreprin…
Robert Lyle McPherson and Christine Isabella, Ph.D. headed up a team that explored the specificity of human lectins for human commensals. So fortunate to have such talented researchers in the Kiessling Group and amazing collaborators in the Xavier Lab Eric Alm groups. #glycotime #microbiome
What does the most abundant human lectin (ZG16B) in our mouths bind? MIT Science study spearheaded by Soumi Ghosh finds it interacts with common commensals (+an oral mucin). Such a fun collaboration of Kiessling Group, Imperiali, and Ruhl groups pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… #glycotime
Could human oral lectin ZG16B be the missing link in our understanding of the oral microbiome? Tried to unlock its role in regulating microbial growth and promoting balance. Honored to be a part of team Imperiali lab Kiessling Group Stefan Ruhl Catherine L Grimes tinyurl.com/2ujr4xhm
