I had the privilege to participate in National Geographic pilot program in certifying teacher candidates of Phase 1 in their NatGeo Educator program. @_Sara_Black introduced us to exceptional educators such as Paul Salopek Dr. Asha de Vos Ray Zahab @penguinlearners @iTeach2ReachDC #Curr325
In this workshop, the last activity was to choose one of the attitudes and skills that National Geographic uses for their Learning Framework and how we can create an activity for students to work towards it. I chose Empowerment because I see how it can bridge awareness into action.. #Curr325
This paper offers insights into the knowledge/beliefs/practices of early math educators + identifies the supports required to improve students' mathematical understandings. Sandy Youmans, PhD & @LyndaColgan are amazing research/writing partners. Thanks to CJE / RCΓ editors/reviewers.
Spent my PD day at Toronto District School Board Enhanced Pathways workshop for History/Geography teachers. Lively discussions of concerns that staff has on destreaming, and some strategies to adapt in our classrooms to support students of different skill levels.
While I love using Esri GIS Education Survey123 when emphasizing the geographic aspects of my questions, itβs helpful to also have Google for Education Forms to make quick surveys! I discovered #GoogleForms just today and used it as an anonymous exit slip that students can also complete at home!
Have you picked up the recent Canadian Geographic magazine? This issue they celebrate Nunavut and 20 years as an official territory. Thrilled to have my image on the cover and part of the story on #nunavut. Nikon Canada NikonUSA @NunavutTourism Destination Nunavut Adventure Canada #adventurecanada
Currently at a Toronto District School Board Global Competence Module & the foundation for this is pretty much the Geography discipline. I may be a little biased, but interrelationships? Geo Perspectives: SEEP? What is where? Why there? Why care?
