Hey all, we're doing this again, this Sunday at 2pm! All ages and abilities welcome, including kids. Let's take some up some streets for biking and have fun meeting new folks while seeing our cities by bike. :)

I just read Angela Davis's book "Are Prisons Obsolete." She highlights the need to decriminalize things like sex work that leave no-one harmed. It's so good to see groups doing the work to reduce unnecessary use of prisons in Canada! Really a service to us all!

I was thinking of reacting to something inflammatory I saw on Twitter, but then I decided it would be nicer to just stick to #Mastodon, where I can "favorite" posts I like without them showing up on my profile. Everything is much clearer on Mastodon.

We call on Region of Waterloo to reject the proposed increase to the police budget & invest the equivalent requested for policing in community-led care & safety. The safest communities are the most resourced. Find CTAs here: t.ly/YKEJ #DefundThePolice #reallocateWR

There was a great community bike ride today! We identified 7 things that the cities/region can do to make cycling better in KW: 1. Slow the traffic on King st. in front of Waterloo Square (from Erb to William?). Make it easier to cross.

GO is actually introducing some WEEKEND trains to Kitchener. But only during Reading Week. Let's make that every weekend thereafter & add a few more for good measure! There's regular crowding on buses EVERY weekend, not just Reading Week! cc: CTV Kitchener Waterloo Region Record CBC KW
