Alex Salmond’s memory will live on for many many years to come. He was the first person since 1707 to bring Scotland near to regaining our independence. Had he lived he would have continued to play a key role in making sure the independence cause is successful.

Today the House of Commons paid tribute to Alex Salmond. He was one of the great politicians of our age. This is the tribute I paid to my dear friend.

My Mum Winnie would be so very proud of Fergus for standing up for his constituents & for Scotland. She would also, doubtless, as a trail blazer for women want to give comfort & support to a courageous woman and say #IStandWithSandiePeggie
