I think our local Dippers have gone. They were nest building in March, but whether it's the building work going on above their bridge, or the Sparrowhawk I saw chasing one of them down stream nearly a month ago, I fear the worst. I loved them too much, so miss them terribly.

This morning the 1st male swallow was over the pond alone. Now his female is here & already they’re in my neighbour’s shed. Several more swallows are just downriver (where I stopped to photograph large bittercress) & a hobby just slammed along the river behind my house.
