It's still #WorldCurlewDay in parts of the USA/Canada.
Long-billed #Curlew is still categorised as 'Least Concern' by BirdLife Data Zone but those who study the species think that that will change.

In 2011 Dungeness witnessed a record spring passage up-channel with 19,064 birds between Apr 18th and May 8th, including 7,217 E on Apr 28th and 5,475 on May 1st which constituted the two highest ever counts at the site.
These will be 'taymyrensis' subspecies Bar-tailed Godwits that have flown from Africa. Flocks can also be seen flying along coast of SE England.
Winter birds in Britain & Ireland are 'lapponica'.
