An *extremely* important piece by asheeshksi.bsky.social which demonstrates clearly how universities, far from being left-wing bastions, are completely run by the corporations & rightwing trustees/donors, right down to brass tacks. teenvogue.com/story/campus-c…?

Studying women’s presence in ethnically divided societies is important. But if we want to understand women’s representation in ethnically divided societies more comprehensively, we need to take the next step by studying substantive representation

We need to disrupt this liberal narrative that Universities are generally benevolent instituions that simply aren’t living up to their values in this current moment. The University is the academic arm of the colonial state, and it is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Growing up, I’ve always been fascinated by the college students in the 1960s and 1970s. Today as a university faculty member, I get to witness the Gen Z creating history and leaving a mark for themselves for their support for Palestine. 🥹 🍉 ✊

this took a long time. I'm so happy to share my latest paper in RIS, looking at racial entanglement, masculinism, and gendered East/West binaries in global reactionary discourse (via another look at Chinese anti-baizuo discourse).

We live in a world which assumes that women's ideas are there for the taking. This data shows both men and women are more likely to take credit for women's ideas than for men's. Kieran Snyder

In Britain, women are more undecided than men about their vote choice. Why?

In our new BJPIR article, Rosalind Shorrocks and I find this is partly explained by gender gaps in:

i) political engagement
ii) perceptions of representation
iii) conflict
