so they think they're pro-democratic & allies to the Taiwanese (and Uyghurs & Tibetans) all while using them for their little thought experiment to delegimate student protests against genocide & settler colonialism, which are being brutally policed. cool.

It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor Caroline Fohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, 'What are you doing?' That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.

This is exactly what militarisation of the US police looks like- two officers brutalising a peacefully protesting faculty member- pushing her violently to the ground for absolutely no reason except that they can. Shame on Emory University for putting staff & students at risk
