dubmissions @char_kiwi Newshub Politics Your reflecting on a wider range of issues than just those in Aotearoa. Most of those measures are improving. My experience is mental health support has had a remarkable turnaround as with homelessness. Not sure you’d be happy with any government.

The hardest job in NZ right now must be working out how to spin The Labour Party Ireland's advancements in improving access to affordable housing, improving child poverty, demonstrating an open and transparent Govt, being tough on crime and building trust with the electorate.

Renting Rent-Seeker James Viggiano 🇳🇿 Jenée Tibshraeny I think the chart is interesting in that it shows how rental yields seem to follow interest rates (borrowing cost goes up = affordability goes down = house price go down) But yes, looks slightly different if on same axis:

A #housingcrisis for the #old - almost half of #NZ’s population on superannuation rent or are paying off a mortgage, with around 2/3 again spending 40-80% on living costs - the numbers are rising 🚨Alarm bells are going off in my head. Bernard Hickey open.substack.com/pub/thekaka/p/…

With 3 years elapsed since the pandemic began (!!!) there are distinct patterns in rental increases over the period. Auckland has stayed low. South Island dipped in the pandemic but has shot back up. Even wellington has moderated. Rest of NI still high though!

this seems historic. a bunch of california cities refused to zone for more housing, so now their zoning plans have all been voided and developers can build as much housing anywhere they like in those cities. x.com/Yimby_Law/stat…
