I properly started full time work in 1989. Back then 3.5% of workers paid higher rate tax. The forecast for 2027/8 is 20%. All the calls for a wealth tax need proper debate / scrutiny. Easy to support so long as the threshold is well above my 'wealth', careful what you wish for.
