Carol Reardon I believe that this should have been made an issue for the people of Vancouver to decide in the last election. As a former Park Commissioner I have seen the real value of an elected Park Board. Decisions are closer to the community, and there’s stronger accountability for them.

The issue isn't Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation good or bad. It's that the commissioners have been elected in good faith by the public. They are not staff. What gives Mayor Ken Sim the right to get rid of them, after only 13 months, in a 5-minute meeting? What did they do wrong? #vanpoli
