This monday, an extremely #Iberian species, the Escalera's bat (Myotis escalerai), a spp from the Nattereri spp complex! 🧬

This spp is distinguished by other members of the comples by its extra long hair fringe in the #uropatagium and by being a #cave dwelling 🦇

Four years of research and our new pipeline for deep-learning based 3D tracking of bat flight is now published in Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences!

Another bat, this time a #migratory species, the lesser noctule or Leisler's bat (Nyctalus leisleri)! 🦇

The smallest #noctule species, in Catalonia is abundant in pine forests, and can be easily monitored when it forms its mating harems in bat boxes!
