The Kuhl's pipistrelle (Pipistrellus kuhlii) is a species that's been expanding it's range northwards due to #ClimateChange !🤔

A typically Mediterranean species, they are pretty adaptable, with a roost of these animals having been found in a Bonelli's eagle nest! 🦅🦇

The greater horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus ferrumequinum), impossible to misidentify both visually or by its characteristic 80khz CF #echolocation calls!

Her emerging focus is increasingly on the role that resource distribution in time and space plays for animals 🦟🦇

The second of our keynote speakers: Prof. Orly Razgour (Orly Razgour ) from University of Exeter, Cornwall , a #MolecularEcologist and #conservationbiologist , researching evolutionary and ecological responses to global environmental change! 🧐🌳🦇

Monday bat! The whiskered bat (Myotis mystacinus) is relatively common in Europe, but more scarce in the southern parts of its distribution! 🤔

In #Catalonia this species is only found in Pyrenean forests, usually near water bodies and riparian areas!

Another bat, this time a #migratory species, the lesser noctule or Leisler's bat (Nyctalus leisleri)! 🦇

The smallest #noctule species, in Catalonia is abundant in pine forests, and can be easily monitored when it forms its mating harems in bat boxes!
