John Keers I know many HKers support Tories mainly coz they think Tories gave them a visa. Sure, they did, rather than giving us right of abode which Liberal Democrats added to their 2019 election manifesto. I didn't join Woking Lib Dems immediately. I did express an interest in knowing more. Cont'd
Fantastic to have Lib Dem 🔶 parliamentary candidate for #Guildford , Zöe Franklin 🔶, joining us to speak with the wonderful residents of #Witley and #Milford ahead of tomorrow's by-election 🗳️
Tomorrow, vote Laura Cavaliere for #Witley and #Milford 🔶
Last night I continued my tour of parish councils in the area moving into #Guildford constituency with a visit to #Effingham Parish Council.
Alongside speaking to people on the doorstep, I find these meetings so helpful as a window into the hopes and challenges of our villages.
I was so pleased to be able to go to the opening of Water Rangers' new Community Water Lab at Zero Carbon Guildford on Saturday. Monitoring and understanding water quality is so important as we work to improve the health of our rivers and streams.

When the Police and Crime Commissioner election last took place in 2021, Lib Dem Paul Kennedy was the clear challenger to the Conservatives. This time the choice is clear - five more years of letdown with the Conservatives or hard-working Paul.
The team were out and about in Park Barn this morning. Yet more positive conversations, and hearing time and again that people are fed up of this tired and out-of-touch government. Lots of support for our General Election candidate Zöe Franklin 🔶 🧡🧡
As I've been out and about chatting to residents this week it's been great to hear from so many that they have voted for Paul Kennedy in the Police and Crime Commissioner election.
I know Paul will be the PCC that we need here in Surrey and has the skills and experience needed.
'I think that is quite heartless'
Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey told #BBCBreakfast debts owed by unpaid carers should be written off after many were told to repay thousands of pounds of benefits after accidentally earning too much

When I say I’ll be an MP who will listens and connects with all our communities I mean it. That’s why a I door knock so much - it enables me to listen and be connected. (Plus I love it!)
Today I was out in Send with Cllr Catherine Houston. Such great conversations.

Yesterday I visited a Refugee Council 🧡 centre to learn more about the support offered to refugees and asylum seekers.
As part of the visit, it was a privilege to speak to two Afghans who generously shared with me about their experiences.

Very disappointing that 187 Tory peers this afternoon stopped proposals from Sarah Olney and SalBrinton which would have given victims access to transcripts of sentencing remarks and judges' summaries free of charge.
This is an insult to victims.
Out in another area of Merrow ward today. Most heard phrase was “oh yes, I used to vote Conservative but I’m voting for you and the Lib Dems this time”. So grateful for the support as we wait for the (desperately needed) General Election.

1/ Today, the House of Lords will vote on my colleague SalBrinton’s proposal which would ensure nobody is forced to pay thousands for a transcript of the trial in which they were the victim.
Yet sadly, neither Conservative nor Labour peers will be backing the proposals.
