Filming in rivers-Grayling, barbel, chub, and gudgeon. If it was 2022 i would of been but sadly we film more pollution and its affects than fish now. The lack of fish in many once productive areas is a huge worry. Something i witnessed recently.

It was designed to improve scour and REDUCE flood risk.

It worked!

Really worth watching.

Unfortunately could not make the The River Summit & Festival. This is what our rivers should look like underwater. Full of life & thriving, sadly they are way of that mark. Habitat loss, and pollution has taken it's toll, don't be fooled that today's rivers are the new natural.

It seems as how there is a lack of fish to film underwater. This coming weekend, we have a few sessions filming pollution. 35 yrs on from filming, I film more pollution than fish.
Never thought I'd say or hear that.

Just look at the state of that.

River Aire looks rough today. No wonder, really.

Show them my underwater footage. I doubt it would make any difference, though.

So you can't apply this year. What's betting in 2025 they have moved the goal posts to make it nearly impossible to reach the criteria.

Congrats to all those who achieved bathing status. Just the start of the uphill battle we have in front of us to get rivers back to how nature intended. We have to take it as a positive step, but I'm under no illusions. There is a lot more to do.

With the announcement today that Wetherby has been granted bathing water status. Below is what we had 2 years ago, and currently, what we have now underwater. The difference is staggering at Wetherby and absolutely disgusting. We have lost so much.
