Happy Trans Mountain Day!

I spent countless hours in the Premier’s office supporting Rachel Notley as she pushed to get this project over the finish line. Today, as the taps officially turn on, it’s a good day for Canada!

'Power grab.'
'Attacks local democracy.'
'Quit meddling.'
'Doesn't appear to see municipal governments as legitimate.'
And that's just what small-town & rural leaders are saying about Danielle Smith's bill to let cabinet squash local bylaws.

NEW COLUMN. I woke up even earlier than usual. I'm pissed off at Smith and the UCP's latest decision. Danielle Smith decides to come down on the poor calgaryherald.com/opinion/column… via Calgary Herald cc

UCP plan seems obvious at this point. Defund cities to increase misery, blame it on the councils, restrict their ability to take recourse, tell voters that parties will fix everything, and if that fails, give yourself the power to remove councillors and revoke bylaws.

They have hundreds of millions of dollars to help build an arena for billionaires, but cut a few million for low-income transit passes.

This sure sounds an awful lot like socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for everyone else.

I covered a lot of council mtgs and I still remember this one.

The low income transit pass means people living in extreme poverty can take the bus for $5 a month.

They can get to appointments, classes & the grocery store. It's a lifeline.

From pensions and trans rights to Bills 18 and 20... How do we make sense of the UCP's policymaking patterns? The right answer might also be the simplest one: cheap talk.

Two years ago Danielle Smith was asked what she thought the BEST electoral system would be.

Her response was the NON-PARTISAN municipal system where you 'get elected as an independent'

Watch the entire clip, the HYPOCRISY is MIND-BLOWING.

Actor Elliot Page on Danielle Smith's anti-trans policies:

'First of all, it’s awful,” Page said about Alberta’s policies. “It’s harmful. It stems from misinformation and lies about our healthcare, about our lives and who we are.' calgaryherald.com/entertainment/…

Sincerely hope all those who spoke out about tree protection with regards to rezoning will consider speaking out about logging in one of K-countries best recreational areas.

Do you care about this carbon sink and the animals that call it home just as much?

A day at work.

On the left, our guy announcing $15 billion in auto jobs for Ontario.

On the right, their guy playing with right-wing extremists.

One's a Prime Minister, bringing jobs for workers and building a future for our kids.

The other is Pierre.
Doing Trumpy things.
