🪩Strictly 2024 🪩 This event would NOT happen every year if it wasn’t for the dedication and grace from SO many people. Pupils, staff, parents, janitors, cleaners, kitchen staff and technicians - we couldn’t do it without you ❤️. What a team! 🐝💛 Until next year, Ambees🫡👋🪩

It's owner, William Lamberton, Bishop of St Andrews, played an absolutely enormous role in the reign of King Robert I, promoting Bruce's rights both within Scotland & abroad. A lot of Bruce's success, particularly in diplomatic terms, was thanks to Lamberton's energy & skill.

Thank you to former AH History pupil Ronan McGreechin 🇵🇸 for coming in to speak to the current class about his educational journey to PhD student and about student life in general. Always lovely to see a FP excel in the subject :-)

Here's a special place in Scotland for the Australians! This is the mausoleum of Lachlan Macquarie - the Father of Australia who was born on this day in 1762. It's found right in the middle of the Isle of Mull and rather surprisingly owned by the National Trust of Australia 🧵

Macquarie was born on the Isle of Ulva, just a short ferry ride from Mull and worked his way up through the ranks of colonial Britain to become Governor of New South Wales in Australia. He played a huge part in transforming the area from a penal colony into a thriving settlement

The Highland and Island Emigration Society was set up to encourage and assist thousands of people leaving Scotland to travel all the way to Australia instead of countries like Canada that were cheaper and easier to reach.

Not sure how many folks still use this platform, but I hope you will share notice of a new scheme designed to spur interest in Classics in the state sector, with help from friends at Glasgow Academy. Places in N5 Latin, Higher and Adv Higher Classical Studies classes available!
