The Devolution C'ttee is meeting with the CS Devolution on the transfer of functions from Nairobi County to the National Government in light of the orders issued by the Employment & Labour Relations Court in Petition No.52 of 2020(Okiya Omtatah Okoiti vs Nairobi Metropolitan Services, NMS and 3 Others)
CS Eugene L. Wamalwa: In regards to illegality of the transfer deed of functions from Nairobi City County to National Government, the Attorney General is in the best position to deliberate on the matter. #SenateLive

CS Eugene L. Wamalwa: Kenya Revenue Authority has been collecting the revenue for Nairobi City County at 2% of the collected revenue. The revenue has tremendously increased since the agency came on board. #SenateLive

CS Eugene L. Wamalwa: The President had an option of dissolving the County Government of Nairobi but due to the polarising nature of Nairobi politics, the President in consultation with Mike Sonko decided to initiate deed of transfer of functions to National Government. #SenateLive
