I will- once again- ask NHS England Workforce, Training and Education to re-consider the whole work around PAs

This is NOT 'doctors being elitist'- this is disrupting workforce morale- negatively- across the board

Stop forcing unsafe, untested methods into NHS

Better leadership- please.

A junior doctor was struck off for not supervising a PA “correctly” - what they mention in the tribunal is that this junior doc didn’t RE-examine and Retake the history from the patient.

This is actually insane. We didn’t sign up for this.

In May and June 2023, I published various tweets alleging that Dr Ranj Singh was a paedophile or sympathises unjustifiably with paedophiles. I accept that these allegations were wholly untrue, and that I had no basis to make them. I sincerely apologise to Dr Singh for the harm

How can the GMC regulate PAs when a Dr has to return to the patient + repeat the hx + examination?

How can NHS Trusts continue to pay a PA salary when all their work has to be repeated by a lesser paid Dr?

Every-time

Forever

Surely the MPTS outcome now ends the PA project

⚠️ I’ve had patients assume “junior doctor” meant medical student level
- yet they’re doctors who just aren’t GP/consultant yet- no matter how senior

⚠️ I’ve had patients assume “physician associate” is a senior doctor because “the name sounds grander than GP”

Let’s not pretend

The amount you pay healthcare workers (especially doctors) is inversely proportional to the waiting time to see one. Let that sink in.

When are Emergency Departments going to put their feet down and clearly draw the line under looking after other departments patients? Every week a new group seem to find a home in the ED after everywhere else declares crisis and shuts their doors.

The same organisation which mandates patient buzzers for ED patients waiting in corridors for over 24hrs'to improve patient safety'.
Normalisation of Deviance off the scale.

What I earn, 13 years post graduation, as a surgeon…

Is so pitiful considering the level of training, sacrifices and the risk I take on, it’s actually embarrassing to say it Taryn

But suffice to say, some PAs earn more than me. That’s an indication of what I earn.

🚨Patient Safety🚨

I’m not sure people really understand why doctors are up in arms about this government trying to substitute doctors

Why we think it will affect patient care?

So let me explain to you what it has taken me to train to become an NHS consultant, necessary to

Physician assistants continue to compare themselves to vulnerable minority groups. Practicing medicine is a privilege bestowed upon individuals following a rigorous medical education. Nobody is entitled to practice medicine, and depriving you of this ability is not oppression.

Dr Tony Goldstone BMA Consultants OME PayReviewBodies Mike Henley 🤨 The BMA Philip Banfield 💙 Vivek Trivedi Dr Robert Laurenson I expect an immediate ballot for IA if there is no substantially above inflation uplift THIS year

I've voted yes because I have faith that our BMA will take swift action if we don't see a clear declaration of intent this May from DDRB

Isn’t it funny:

🔸MP pay review body can get its act together and issue pay rises prior to April.
🔹DDRB, NHSPRB and others never publish prior to June/July.

AND:

🔸MP pay review body is binding on Govt / Parliament.
🔹 DDRB, NHSPRB and others are only “recommendations”.

In 2008, doctors were paid £20/h in today’s money

After 15 years of cuts, doctors are now paid £15/h in today’s money

We want doctors to go back to being paid £20/h in today’s money

We’re not asking for that to happen in one go/ one year

What’s unreasonable about this?

We received a very upset message from a SHO in a South London A&E department because the locum shifts are Open to SHO, ACP and PA’s. The SHOs get the last pick because the PAs have a lower bank rate but have a much higher salary than the SHO’s.

There is not a single good reason why an unregulated individual who has had no medical training and isn't an obstetrician should be performing caesarean sections on women.

Women are not lab rats. When maternal mortality is the highest it's been in 20 years in the UK,

Exasperated by the stick a GP is being given for not providing antibiotics for a ‘gum infection’. Issuing them would actively be the wrong thing to do.
