A busy morning down at St Marks park for our volunteers clearing rubbish from the river, wood from the Gormley statue and recovering the width of the path
Staff were out hunting #gianthogweed and managed to treat 470 plants to stop them taking over the river banks

A fine morning yesterday for our black grouse lek count and great to record an increase in our number of lekking males. This was due to an increase of some of our known leks but also the recent discovery of two new lek sites. Hopefully this upturn occurs elsewhere too.
