We highly recommend hikers avoid Pontatoc Ridge Trail and choose an alternate trail for the time being. Stay at least 100ft from bee hives and swarms if you encounter them.

A successful search last night.

Our new candidates underwent their overnight training last weekend. They covered 10 miles of terrain in the rain and darkness while practicing search operations. Thank you to our instructors for a great training!

SARA responded to a request for mutual aid at Four Peaks yesterday morning. Strong work alongside CAMRA, TRSAR, and Pinal County SAR led to the successful rescue of 3 hikers. Teams put in an incredible amount of work in the rain, fog, and tough terrain.

SARA responded to a rescue at Tanque Verde Falls earlier today for a hiker who was injured after falling 20 feet. Hiker was evacuated by Dept. of Public Safety PCSD Search and Rescue

‼️The road to Mt. Lemmon has been CLOSED at the base to ALL‼️ Overnight the mountain received a significant amount of snow. This has created dangerous conditions on the roadway Road conditions & most current information can be found on the road closure hotline (520) 547-7510

Sabino and Bear Canyon roads are closed due to flooding. Visitors are reminded to not cross low-water bridges during rain events due to water levels changing frequently and the possibility of getting stranded. Turn around don't drown!

A Flood Warning remains in effect for Sabino Canyon area through the afternoon, with more rain anticipated for tonight.

A Blackhawk from CBP Arizona conducted a challenging hoist to rescue an injured hiker on Mt Lemmon. High winds made the hoist extremely difficult. Thanks to Southern Arizona Rescue Association for stabilizing and keeping the patient warm overnight. Pima County Sheriff's Department

SARA had a technical rope rescue training day yesterday. We practiced litter scoops at Windy Point. Training to keep those skills sharp!
