The second of two rescues today. This is from Pima Canyon. A hiker with a heat injury was assisted off trail by Southern Arizona Rescue Association and Rural Metro Fire
It was a late night on Mt Lemmon last night searching for a hiker who had been lost for 2 days. The hiker was successfully found in thick vegetation by rescuers with Southern Arizona Rescue Association and Survey 1. He was provided with food and water, and was able to hike out.
A hunter with a medical emergency was airlifted from rugged terrain SW of Tucson this morning by Dept. of Public Safety Ranger 52. The patient was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. Pima County Sheriff's Department
Annual Christmas callout. Last night rescuers from Southern Arizona Rescue Association assisted with a hiker who fell approximately 200 feet on the Butterfly Trail on Mt Lemmon. Snow and ice made for a difficult rescue, but our rescuers train for situations like this.

Yesterday a hiker fell and sustained a head injury near Tanque Verde Falls. Due to the injury a helicopter was requested for air evac. A hoist capable helicopter from CBP Arizona responded and hoisted the patient and transported him directly to the hospital. Southern Arizona Rescue Association

A Blackhawk from CBP Arizona conducted a challenging hoist to rescue an injured hiker on Mt Lemmon. High winds made the hoist extremely difficult. Thanks to Southern Arizona Rescue Association for stabilizing and keeping the patient warm overnight. Pima County Sheriff's Department
Yesterday a hiker fell on Mt Lemmon and sustained several injuries. The patient was stabilized by Southern Arizona Rescue Association and Mt Lemmon Fire. Dept. of Public Safety Ranger 1 flew from Phoenix to hoist the patient out. Great team effort by all those involved. Pima County Sheriff's Department
A hiker was airlifted by Dept. of Public Safety Ranger 2 on Saturday night after breaking his leg on Mt Lemmon. A rescue deputy was lowered to the scene with gear. The Southern Arizona Rescue Association was able to hike to the patient and assist with stabilizing him and preparing him for the hoist.
Hiker rescue this afternoon with SaguaroNationalPark on the Sweetwater Trail. Plan your hike accordingly. The heat is upon us. Try to finish your hike before it’s too hot. Bring plenty of food and water; turn around when you drink half your water.
A hiker sustained an ankle injury yesterday in Bear Canyon. Rural Metro Fire arrived on scene and splinted the injury. Dept. of Public Safety Ranger 2 lowered a rescue deputy to the scene. The patient was hoisted out to an awaiting ambulance.
Second rescue of the day with Rural Metro Fire . As a reminder, with the heat you should be starting and finishing your hike earlier in the day. Bring plenty of water and know your limits. Fortunately both rescues only required some rest and rehydration.
3 recent searches have all originated in the area of Marshall Gulch. Hikers are dropping into the Sabino Creek which leads to difficult terrain and no actual trail to follow. Make sure you’re on the correct trail when leaving Marshall Gulch. Southern Arizona Rescue Association
Yesterday afternoon a hiker fell near Tanque Falls and sustained several injuries. The Southern Arizona Rescue Association responded to stabilize the patient. Pima County Sheriff's Department Sheriff 1 conducted a hoist operation and transported the patient to an awaiting ambulance.
