To be clear as an ECEC (Early Year) provider the only group representing my service at the table is The Federation of Early Childhood Providers they are the only group who have consulted with members sending surveys, having group chats and meetings listening & hearing the voices on the ground @dcediy
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… Why oh why Roderic O’Gorman TD @dcediy are we following the same path. Learn from their mistakes & learn fast. Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers how are you going to get through to them 😭
ECEC services & their staff are being failed massively by @dcediy. The great plan of ERO and core funding has become a tokenistic tool for the Early years sector offers of 65cent to staff and €20/€30 a wk to services is not going to retain staff or services. The Federation of Early Childhood Providers
Rowena Fisher @MaryMag86999606 @dcediy Roderic O’Gorman TD That's it Rowena it not easy to close either. I have 6 staff and 44 children with no alternative places but at some point we will have to choose us. Our mental health & our own families won't stick this. Sadly we are being bullied out of our businesses 💔
Today was the best day, the bus driver allowed myself and @erinfeagan102 on the bus with both our wheelchairs. It’s the first time ever we have been able to travel together and it was a game changer. I would love for this to happen all the time.Thank you so much dublinbusnews ♿️
irishtimes.com/opinion/2024/0… Providers have been screaming this would happen for yrs now, unfortunately no one is listening hense the disaster now for Families, Staff & Providers only win is the dept purse strings! Gov must invest in ECEC urgently The Federation of Early Childhood Providers #SAVEOURSERVICES
Olivia Carton @gavreilly.com on Bluesky 5 services gone on Lucan. 5 services gone in Sandyford all closing this week. Many more closing nationally. Who will be made accountable for this ?Parents struggling to find places. Women on their knees working years in our sector to be forced out of business. The Federation of Early Childhood Providers
Olivia Carton @gavreilly.com on Bluesky The Federation of Early Childhood Providers We are a sinking ship and no one will support us or help us WHY We need support from everyone to keep our services open. Everyone thinks we are being hugely funded but unfortunately historic fee freezes have crippled our businesses. Pat Kenny Newstalk Newstalk Breakfast The Federation of Early Childhood Providers
Early Years Professional Ireland Olivia Carton @gavreilly.com on Bluesky The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Roderic O’Gorman TD @dcediy How many times do we have to ask for help. So many struggling and broken. Someone must take responsibility for these policies that have let down providers, parents and children. The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Roderic O’Gorman TD when will you do something ?
Closures Dublin alone 5 in our ministers constituency 5 Kilbarrack to Donabate 5 Lucan 5 Sandyford 2 Clondalkin All closed last week. No one taking these services over. Who is going to take responsible for this fiasco. This is nationwide. Roderic O’Gorman TD
On a net basis, there are 67 fewer Early Years services open now than at the Core Funding peak in Nov 2022. It's simply not working. @dcediy Catherine Murphy Réada Cronin TD 🇮🇪🇵🇸 @BernardDurkanTD James Lawless Roderic O’Gorman TD The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Early Childhood Ireland
SIPTU - The Early Years Union Simon Harris TD High quality services are closing because of chronic underfunding. We have been fighting this for years. This sector is already publicly funded and this just shows Core Funding isn’t working. Providers are not at fault here. It is policy failure. The Federation of Early Childhood Providers
