#Republish Shpresa Loshaj overcame legal harassment and intimidation to protect Kosovo's Lumbardhi River from illegal hydropower development. Now months after our article was published, she has triumphed in the legal fight and the dam builder Kelkos is facing lawsuits.

A nature park is not sufficiant for the Vjosa, neither for the river, nor for the people. It can only be a first step towards a national park.

Always good to catch up with a dear friend of the Republic of Kosovo. At La Francophonie, I spoke to 🇨🇦 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about ongoing developments in our region and the gratitude of our people for Canada’s clear and concrete support.

Breaking: Kosovo court decided that 2 hydropower plants on Lumbardhi river must remain switched off. Big win for Shpresa Loshaj, civil society and Blue Heart legal team. And another defeat for Austrian energy company Kelag (Kelkos) which acted like a state in a state to build dams.

Our wounds r still open & Miroslav Lajčák is preparing terrain for repeat of genocide against Kosovo. He should bear full responsibility for inciting&supporting serb agression and for blatant disregard for our lives. Thank you Thomas Waitz for standing up for justice.
