Mixing drugs can either affect the efficacy of the medication when over diluted or lead to toxicity when undiluted. The roles of pharmacists are non negotiable in that space but our greatest nemesis is the lack of adequate clinical pharmacist. Ghanaians deserve better.

Something extraordinary happened on 19th December 1935. Another extraordinary thing happens on 1st May 2026. Guess what🤩🇬🇭

As a clinical pharmacist, I have seen cases where we analgesics were overdiluted yet the patient was in so much pain. As I intervened and made them use the right volume the pain was alleviated. A wrongful drug reconstitution leads to medication errors.

When more pharmacists are employed some of these roles can be taken up to ensure patient's receive their injections at the right concentrations and right rate. Pharmacokinitics is easily understood by the pharmacists, making sure the right volume of fluid is used in mixing drugs.
