What a brilliant clip. There's so much going on. What should we have a THREAD about? Feeling like a dad? Serve & return? Language development? Identity? Fear? Delight? Surprise? Brain functioning? How about ALL of them at once? How cool would that be? 😎😎😎 #BabyThread

Babies have feelings. Babies have feelings. Babies have feelings. When you were a baby, you had feelings. Your parents’ capacities to see those feelings & respond to them shaped your biology. Any professional early years people in your life? They shaped your biology too.

Here is why I say to early years staff: "Alongside parents, you are the most influential people in the country." Early years staff shape the brains, stress systems and emotional regulatory capacities of a child for the whole of their life. Early years staff MATTER.

We were delighted to be invited to the launch of the excellent #ShapingUs campaign. The importance of the First 1001 Days is what drives our commitment to increasing the number of specialised parent-infant relationship teams in the UK, to support babies & families in the most need

Infant mental health is not a out a set of instructions “sing to your baby” “talk to your baby”. It’s about creating opportunities and conditions in which parents can nurture their babies in a way that works for them, & good support for those who struggle. #IMHAW2023

In our survey, many mums highlighted that bonding with their baby wasn't instant, and that this had made them feel bad, or as if there was something wrong with them. We think more should be done to support mums and families struggling to bond. #BondingBeforeBirth #IMHAW2023
