"Makes me wonder why I bother getting up in the morning." Just spare a thought for the tiny number of volunteers at End Our Cladding Scandal UK Cladding Action Group, who every day, while dealing with their own dangerous flats, get up to hold the govt, @luhc &construction industry to account. "Gove is understood to have considered blocking Galliard from consent for new homes unless it fixes Hodgkiss’s building. (...) However, the surprise election announcement meant Gove could not act — leaving the decision to the next government."

Developers like Taylor Wimpey plc are smacking their lips at the cash bonanza coming their way. We need to make sure that Matthew Pennycook MP first makes them pay for ALL the financial harm they've caused leaseholders, before funneling ANY of our taxes to them. #BuildingSafetyCrisis

🔴 Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the fire in Dagenham this morning. The number one priority is that all affected residents are safe and well and get the support and answers they need. Action to make our homes safe remains urgent - and the pace must accelerate.

A major incident has been declared following a fire at a block in Barking and Dagenham where dangerous cladding was being removed. Regardless of the cause of the fire, one fact remains: 7 years since Grenfell and people still live in blocks that are unsafe and combustible.
